Supplemental Instruction is an exemplary, peer-led academic assistance program designed to help students succeed in challenging courses. Supplemental Instruction leaders collaborate with faculty to organize and deliver additional study sessions to aid students in learning course material.

Qualifications
- Enrolled LSU student (6+ hours registered per semester) for at least one semester
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or above
- Credit or completion of LSU courses with a grade of A- or above.
- Exceptions granted with faculty recommendation
- Prior enrollment with course instructor is preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
Requirements
- Weekly workload approximately 12 hrs
- Participate in pre-semester training workshops every semester
- Conduct weekly study sessions using SI facilitation methods
- Attend all classes for SI course
- Conduct one weekly office hour for individual student questions
- Meet with SI course instructor throughout semester

The Center for Academic Success provides quality peer tutoring in LSU Library. Tutors assist students with homework, project and assignment fundamentals; help students understand concepts; and apply effective learning strategies. Tutoring peers is a rewarding experience as tutors not only empower their peers, but also strengthen their own conceptual knowledge and academic performance. Tutors also have the opportunity to become a certified peer tutor within two semesters.

The Shell Tutorial Center serves many LSU students each semester through the assistance of the Support Staff. The Tutorial Center Support Staff work with tutors to ensure that students receive service in a timely manner. The STC Support Staff also provides schedule and course offering information and student assistance through front desk operations. The ideal candidate is an undergraduate student who is dependable, organized, detail-oriented and friendly.

The Center for Academic Success team is seeking an undergraduate student worker in marketing and design. The work includes social media advertisement production and effectiveness measurement, graphic design, public relations and event work, writing, video and photography. The student marketing team has the opportunity to further develop these skills, gain experience and add writing/design/video items to their professional portfolio.
The ideal candidate should:
Exemplify proficient written and oral communication skills
Understand social media and digital marketing
Be comfortable working the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

The Center for Academic Success hires graduate assistants to provide individual academic coaching to assist students with learning strategies, time management, test anxiety, study skills and exam preparation. These graduate assistants will be integral to CAS workshops, presentations, marketing, communication and assessment efforts as well as other projects as needed.

Academic Support Graduate Assistants help with administration and oversight of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) and/or Shell Tutorial Center programs. This may include observations of Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions, assisting in student employee trainings, and assisting with general administrative tasks.
