Public Comments
It is intended that public comments may be made (1) when they relate to a matter on the agenda and (2) when individuals desiring to make public comments have registered at least one hour prior to the meeting by emailing facultysenate@lsu.edu.
When registering, individuals should identify themselves; the group they are representing, if appropriate; and the agenda item on which they would like to comment. About the LSU Faculty Council Meeting
The purpose of the meeting is two-fold: to keep faculty members informed of Faculty Senate activities, and to allow discussion of faculty interests and concerns with upper administration.
The Council meeting provides a forum for expression of opinions above and beyond the discussions and actions of the Faculty Senate. Items which have been approved by a vote of the Senate may be placed on the Council’s agenda for discussion in accordance with Article III, Sections 6 and 7, of the Faculty Council bylaws.
Council Members
Please note that only full-time LSU A&M faculty members are eligible to vote on matters of the LSU A&M Faculty Council. Full-time faculty members are defined as full-time members of the academic staff with 100% effort during a 9-month appointment or 100% effort during a 12-month appointment having the rank of Instructor or higher (or equivalent ranks).
LSU AgCenter faculty with 100% effort in equivalent ranks who hold current affiliate or associate Graduate Faculty appointment are included in the LSU A&M Faculty Council.
Submission of Resolution Discussions
The Faculty Senate has adopted a number of resolutions since the last Faculty Council meeting. Please visit the Faculty Senate Resolutions Webpage to review the list of resolutions, and provide written notice to facultysenate@lsu.edu by Thursday, April 18 if you wish to have any of the resolutions included in the Faculty Council agenda for discussion. The Faculty Senate Executive Committee encourages members of the Council to limit those resolutions for discussion to the past few years if possible.
