Admission to the College
Students in The Center for the Freshman Year (UCFY) and The Center for Advising and Counseling (UCAC) with a declared engineering, computer science, or construction management major will be admitted automatically upon meeting the following criteria:
- 24 or more semester hours of earned credit in courses numbered 1000 or above
- LSU and cumulative GPAs of 2.00 or better
- “C” grades in one of the following:
- MATH 1550 (5 hours)
- MATH 1551 (5 hours)
- Both MATH 1530 and MATH 1540 (6 hours)
- CM majors only: MATH 1431 (3 hours) or one of the aforementioned math option
- Additional GPA requirement for PETE majors: 2.8 GPA on all courses applied to the petroleum engineering degree program.
Students enrolled in the LSU Online Undergraduate Certificate of Engineering will be admitted to the college upon meeting the following requirements:
- LSU and cumulative GPAs of 2.00 or better
- Nine hours of 1000- and/or 2000-level CM courses in the required core curriculum with
grades of “C” or better.
Students seeking admission from other senior colleges at LSU are encouraged to meet with a College of Engineering representative in the William Brookshire Student Services Suite in Patrick F. Taylor Hall 2228.
