Handicap Accessibility
Ensuring an enriching experience for all visitors is our priority. If anyone in your party requires a wheelchair during their museum visit, please ask a front desk staff member. Complimentary wheelchair loans are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To better accommodate your needs, we kindly request advanced notification if your family or group includes individuals with special needs.
Payment
Full admission payment is due on the day of your visit. Accepted forms of payment are cash or credit card. Business checks for tour groups are accepted. Please note that cash change will not be provided for any pre-made business check exceeding the number of guests in attendance.
Parking
For buses, follow the signs to the LSU Rural Life Museum, which is located 1.5 miles from the front gate on Essen Lane. Guests can disembark and enter in front of the museum entrance. If arriving by car or van, free parking is available in front of the museum.
Check-In
Upon entering the museum, please proceed to the front desk/gift shop area for check-in and admission payments. The front desk and gift shop are conveniently located on the left side after passing through the main entrance.
For group arrivals, designate one adult leader to directly approach the front desk for check-in and payment processing. It is essential that the leader comes prepared with an accurate count of both youth and adults. The leader will receive a comprehensive admission receipt, along with maps for the adults. If you request a guided tour, your assigned guide will meet you at the front desk following your payment. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a smooth and organized check-in process for your group's visit.
