Reserve Your Plate

Your plate reservation is a two-year purchase, with the option to renew at the end of your two-year reservation period.

Almost all of your LSU license plate purchase is eligible for the charitable tax deduction. For every LSU license plate purchased through the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles, the OMV returns the full purchase amount (less fees) to LSU for direct support of student scholarships.

The LSU license plate is available to any citizen of Louisiana for all non-commercial cars, trucks and motor homes.

Purchase Your Plate

By Mail

1. Visit the OMV’s Louisiana Special Plates page and enter your current license plate number with no spaces.
2. Complete and print the online Order Form.
3. Mail your application to the OMV’s Special Vehicle Unit, or deliver it to the main office in Baton Rouge.
4. Your plate will be mailed to you.

In Person

LSU plates are also available for direct purchase at most DMVs in the state. Call ahead if you’d like to ensure the availability of a plate for pick-up.
