Resources
On-campus
The main on-campus resource for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff is the LSU LGBTQ+ Project. Housed under the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the LGBTQ+ Project actively works to make Louisiana State University a safer space for all students, faculty, and staff regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. The critically important work of the LGBTQ+ Project includes organizing the Safe Space Campaign, programming events that support and advocate for LGBTQ+ students, and supporting queer student organizations.
How to Change Your Name at LSU
The LGBTQ+ Project created a how-to guide with information and instructions for changing your name on official LSU correspondence and with various organizations across campus. Access the guide here.

LSU Student Groups
There are several active LGBTQ+ student groups on campus. Those include:
Spectrum
Spectrum empowers and supports LSU gender and sexual minority such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual/aromantic/agender (LGBTQIA) communities as well as their allies by providing social support, education, programming, and opportunities to participate in campus and community activism.
Qroma
Qroma is an organization which seeks to support the campus' lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students of color through service, programming, and social outreach. This student organization hopes to address the struggles that are paired with being queer students of color on LSU's campus.
Louisiana Trans Advocates: LSU chapter
LTA:LSU's goal is to create a safe space for trans students as well as provide support and trans specific resources for LSU Students.
Queer Graduate Student Alliance
QGSA empowers and supports LGBTQIA+ LSU graduate students through social support, education, and community activism.
OUTLaw @ LSU law school
The mission of OUTlaw is to create a climate at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in which it is safe and comfortable to be openly lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or an ally (“LGBT”). OUTlaw members aim to promote education, awareness, and advocacy of LGBT issues to LSU Law students, faculty, and staff and seek to create an atmosphere of acceptance and comfort, instill justice, and combat discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
