The LSU Department of Bands is pleased to offer several unique workshops, camps, and events, each geared towards improving the technique and proficiency of middle and high school band students, current band directors, and their ensembles. Follow the links below to learn more about each event!

Spring 2025

Conductor's Art

January 24 - 25, 2025

The Conductor's Art is an intensive conducting and teaching workshop. Participants have the opportunity to work with LSU's distinguished ensembles, such as the LSU Wind Ensemble and LSU Symphony Orchestra, while receiving direct coaching from our guest clinicians and the LSU conducting faculty.

Stately Oaks Music Festival

February 6 - 8, 2025

The Stately Oaks Music Festival is a multi-day camp designed for high school (grades 9–12) and middle school (grades 7–8) music students. Participants are immersed in large ensembles with their peers, receive a group masterclass on their instrument, engage with the LSU concert ensembles in interactive rehearsals, and more.

Prefest

Get your band ready for competition! Bring your ensembles to LSU for a unique opportunity to practice and refine concert festival music. Receive written and recorded feedback from a panel of LSU faculty judges, take part in a full ensemble clinic with one of LSU's band directors, and more.

Spend a Day With Tiger Band

TBD 2025

The Golden Band from Tigerland hosts a "Spend A Day With Tiger Band" event, open to current high school band members in grades 10 - 12 on eligible instruments, giving prospective students the opportunity to perform in Tiger Stadium with the Tiger Band during the annual LSU Spring Football Game.

Summer 2025

LSU Bands Music Camp

June 15 - 19, 2025

This is an intensive music camp for high school students with wide ranges of experience. Students will have the opportunity to study privately on their instrument, as well as participate in concert and chamber ensemble rehearsal settings, all while working with accomplished professional faculty and graduate students from the LSU School of Music.

Tigerland Auxiliary & Leadership Camp

June 22 - 24, 2025

This leadership camp is geared to give high school students all of the skills necessary to return to their band programs ready to go for the coming year. Students will work closely with LSU Department of Bands directors and staff to refine their leadership skills, colorguard work, and marching percussion fundamentals.
