Psychologists call this the "Babble Hypothesis" – the idea that quantity of speech drives perceptions of leadership status. New research co-authored by Michael Johnson in the LSU Rucks Department of Management explores unanswered questions behind this leadership phenomenon, with novel findings for employees and managers alike.
The Louisiana Economy Forecasting Model, maintained by the Department of Economics, provides economic forecasts for Louisiana and the state’s nine metropolitan areas for the current quarter and three quarters ahead. The forecasts for the fourth quarter of 2025 through the third quarter of 2026 suggest continuing slow growth in state economic activity and employment.
