Amy Ordeneaux
Director, Medical Clinic
I've been working at the Student Health Center for more than 15 years. I love working
with this patient population. Even though most students are in the same age range,
they come from so many different cultures and backgrounds. Finding out what they want
to do with their life, where they grew up, and try to help them navigate moving into
the "real world" is rewarding. LSU students have helped me grow into a better physician
through the years. They keep me young, more open minded, and help me not be in such
a hurry!

Lasting advice
My mom once told me to "rise above." I don't even remember the situation, but the advice still sticks with me. It fits on such a wide range of situations. You can rise above fears, doubts, conflicts, haters, and even pain. You will come out a stronger, better person for it.
Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot is the Enchanted Forest. It's right behind our building, always shady, and is a great place to get a quick walk in at lunch. Students hang hammocks and read. It is just a nice quiet spot to get some fresh air after being inside all day.
In another life
I would be a book editor. I would love to read for a living! The only thing holding me back is my grammar skills…I'm much better at science and math. I love to get lost in books of any kind.
