Dear all,
The installation of the Waters Synapt XS platform has been completed. We had a major delay caused by a contamination that took a long time to be cleared out of our UPLC. In addition, we also found a minor issue with the calibration of the instrument. We have the most updated version of the instrument, which uses a novel detector. The initial calibration was done with specs referencing the previous detector, and therefore we had to repeat the operation with a second engineer. Now the instrument is performing as intended and we started acquiring example data.

Together with Waters Applications team, we have organized a remote training session aimed at introducing the system from the point of view of metabolomics. Dr. Jennifer Seymour (Waters metabolomics application scientist) will introduce the instruments and the platform as whole, after which she will display the capabilities of the instrument and the associated software (Progenesis QI) with pre-acquired dataset. I am in the process of acquiring data for these sessions as well, but I may not have them ready for these training session.
The goal is to show users what the instrument does and what kind of deliverable can be obtained from this platform
We will have two identical training seminars intended to accommodate the schedule of as many users as possible.
The first session is on April 19, 2023, from 2 to 4 PM.
The second session is May 2, 2023, from 10 AM to 12 PM.
You can register for one or both sessions.
