Mandatory Employee Training
In order to remain knowledgeable about important policies and procedures, and to stay in compliance to state and federal regulations, all LSU employees are required to complete the following mandatory training e-courses. Course descriptions and instructions for registration are outlined below. The courses are:

Cybersecurity Awareness Training

Enroll in the Cybersecurity Awareness Training course
Today's technology has advanced our lives and work environments with instant communication and access to information. However, these conveniences also introduce new risks and threats. It has become much simpler to carry out cyber-attacks to steal information, take control of systems, and more. LSU is committed to educating and protecting its community against these malicious threats.
All faculty and staff are required to take this training.
This training should be completed one time upon employment, within the first 30 days of hire.
After enrollment in the course, please select “Cybersecurity Awareness Training”. There are knowledge checks throughout the video which users will be required to complete before they can proceed. In order to receive appropriate credit for the course, please ensure that you receive the certificate from the State of Louisiana, as well as complete the “LSU Course Completion” section of the course.”

The Louisiana Code of Governmental Ethics, Louisiana Board of Ethics
*Required annually (every calendar year). Deadline is December 31 at 11:59pm.
In response to Louisiana Revised Statute 42:1170, all public employees are required to complete one hour of training on the Code of Governmental Ethics each calendar year. This online training course is located on the Ethics Board website. Upon completion, the employee will be provided with a certificate that documents the completion of the course.
According to the statute, failure to comply with the requirements of training constitutes a violation of the Ethics Code. Any public employee who is found to have violated any provision of any law within the jurisdiction of the Ethics Board can be removed, suspended, or ordered to have a reduction in pay or demotion by the Ethics Board. The board can also impose a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars, or both.
All classified, unclassified, and other academic employees, faculty members, contingent/transient workers, graduate and teaching assistants, and student workers who have worked 90 days or longer for the calendar year are required to take this training.
This training must be completed by 11:59 PM on December 31st each calendar year.

Power-based Violence Prevention & Response Training
*Required annually (every calendar year). Deadline is September 30 at 11:59pm.
LSU’s Power-based Violence Prevention & Response Training satisfies the training requirements outlined in both the 2012 Louisiana Senate Concurrent Resolution 107, which requires one hour of sexual harassment training, and in Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, which requires training on sexual misconduct prevention. In the course, you will learn about your role as a mandatory reporter and review example scenarios to check for understanding.
After completing the e-course, you will be able to print out a certificate of completion for your records. Please save a copy for your personal records, as well as forward a copy to your department's HR Contact for reporting and compliance, if applicable. However, it is your responsibility to keep track of your individual certificate.
All classified, unclassified, and other academic employees, faculty members, contingent/transient workers, graduate and teaching assistants are required to take this training. Student workers are encouraged by not required to take the training.
This training must be completed by 11:59 PM on September 30th.

Digital Resource and Content Accessibility Awareness Training
*Required annually (every calendar year). Deadline for completion is December 31 at 11:59pm.
To satisfy the federal requirement, LSU has created the e-course, Digital Resource and Content Accessibility Awareness. This course will teach employees about the federal statutes and institutional policy governing digital resource and content accessibility, and the tools available to ensure the proactive accessibility of digital resources and content.
After completing the e-course, you will be able to print out a certificate of completion for your records. Please keep this certificate and follow your department's instructions for reporting and compliance.
LSU is requiring that each classified employee, unclassified employee, faculty (including emeritus and Gratis), other academic, contingent/transient, graduate/teaching assistant, WAE position, and student worker complete the Digital Resource and Content Accessibility Awareness training. As there are many unique classifications of faculty and staff, the unit head has the discretion to determine if a position is entitled to an exemption. Exemptions should be based on whether a position creates or disseminates digital content.
Trades positions, custodial staff, and students (who are not employed by LSU) are exempt from this training.

State of Louisiana ADA Compliance Training
*Required every three (3) years. Deadline for completion is within a supervisor's first 30 days (hired or promoted).
Act 103 provides guidance for the development and implementation by state agencies of policies, training, and reporting relative to compliance with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Per Act 103, any LSU Employee who has duties as a supervisor is required to take the State of Louisiana ADA Compliance Training.
Any LSU employee who has duties as a supervisor is required to take the training. This includes persons assigned to supervisory roles over currently vacant positions. Act 103 defines a supervisor as “a public employee or an elected official responsible for overseeing the productivity, work behavior, and attendance of other public employees of the agency”. This includes persons assigned to supervisory roles over currently vacant positions.
All new hires into supervisory roles or current employees who assume supervisory responsibilities must complete the training within 90 days of the hire or promotion/job change, and then every three years thereafter.
Persons who are identified as having supervisory roles in Workday have been loaded into a training course within Moodle. Users should login with their LSU A&M credentials (for those who may hold dual appointments). For users not pre-enrolled, the course is set to allow for manual enrollment by clicking "enroll me in this course" when first attempting to access it.

All participants of the trainings are listed/enrolled as students, regardless of employment status with LSU. The only other primary role within the course aside from students are instructors, which is reserved for the course admins.
If you still have a red lock on your certificate or final assessment, it means you still have incomplete activities* within your course.
Clicking on the red lock will give you a list of any items that haven't been completed. Additionally, each item listed in purple is hyperlinked to that activity, so you can just click on the item directly and it should take you to whatever needs to be completed.
*Note: The activities include the book resource located in the Course Overview (the welcome page or the very first page when opening the course). Module 1 of the Power-based Violence Prevention & Response is locked until a participant views all the chapters in the book resource located in the Course Overview.
Some items, like your certificate of completion, need to be manually marked as complete in the course. You can do this by clicking the greyed out check mark on the certificate in the course. Doing this should bring you to 100% completion within the course, so long as you've completed all other activities.
