Showing appreciation to student employees lets them know their efforts are seen, motivates them to improve their work, and can play a key role in retaining them as a member of your team. Our office offers ideas below for how your team can show appreciation to student employees.
Appreciation Week
Student Employee Appreciation Week is April 8–12, 2024. It is an annual opportunity to recognize the value and impact of student employees.

Student Employee of the Year
Students go above and beyond in their work on campus every day, and our goal is to celebrate each of them. The Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) program takes nominations for two annual SEOTY winners and leads cross-campus initiatives to celebrate the efforts and contributions of all student employees.
Supervisors can nominate their student employee by completing the nomination form.
Forms are due by email to stuemployment@lsu.edu by Friday, March 8, 2024.
Nominees will be recognized at the Student Employee of the Year Reception on April 9, 2024.
