In my final semester of college, I had the opportunity to craft a personal mission statement during a leadership retreat. The goal I embraced was to “approach the workplace with kindness and humility while actively seeking ways to serve others.” I strive to practice kindness because we never truly know the struggles others face or the journeys that have brought them to their current circumstances. I embrace humility, recognizing that, while I have knowledge and skills, I certainly do not have all the answers. Most importantly, I am dedicated to a mission of service.

I believe that true fulfillment comes from helping others, regardless of the scale of the act. This statement led me to my current position as it is at its core a tool to serve students and enhance their experience at LSU. I was greatly impacted by the student success programs at my alumni university, leading me to my first job as a Transportation Manager at J.B. Hunt Transport, and I sincerely hope I can return the favor.

Sister, sister

I have a twin sister who’s currently attending LSU. She is my reason for moving to Louisiana and leaving the beautiful west coast. We are fraternal and look nothing alike, but we share many interests and get along very well.

On my bookshelf

Currently, I am in love with Brandon Sanderson’s literature, and am making my way through the Stormlight Archives. Each book in the series is climbing to the top of my list of top 3 novels, which currently stands at 1) Oathbringer 2) The Way of Kings 3) Words of Radiance.

Words to live by

My grandma shared a profound piece of scripture with me called the serenity prayer. I consider it some of the best advice a person can receive, regardless of religious belief. It gives you a guidebook for facing life’s challenges: “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”.
