A Message from the Assistant Vice President 

As Assistant Vice President & Executive Director of University College at Louisiana State University, Andrea Jones is the chief administrator for
this academic college which is comprised of theA Jones Center for Freshman Year, the Center for Advising and Counseling, and Summer Scholars. She is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all programs within the college with an emphasis in advisement, assessment, and retention. She is directly involved with development efforts to cultivate funding for the various programs of the college and for student scholarships.

Andrea Jones is a licensed professional counselor and carries supervision credentials with the State of Louisiana.  She has spent over 25 years at LSU as either an academic counselor or administrator for academic counseling programs.  Her tenure at LSU includes serving as an academic counselor in Junior Division, the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Human Sciences & Education, and assistant director in The Center for Advising & Counseling.  During this time, she has also served in many leadership roles on campus and within national and statewide professional organizations.  She is a member of the Louisiana Counseling Association (LCA), the Louisiana College Counseling Association (LCCA), and the National Academic Advising Association.

Jones received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, a Master of Education in Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University, as well as a Certificate of Education Specialist degree from Louisiana State University.
