Through a cooperative agreement between The Louisiana Population Data Center- LSU and the Economic Research Service, arrangements have been made with the U.S. Bureau of the Census to produce a version of the 1990 Census individual - level data that contains the labor market area geography.
As of March 28th, the Bureau of the Census has completed its work on this special 0.5 percent PUMS file (PUMS-L) that will parallel the 1980 PUMS-D.
At this time, Louisiana Population Data Center staff members are checking the file and verifying its contents. After this initial testing, further testing will be done by U.S.D.A. S-259 Technical Committee members. After this period of testing and validation, the file will be available through the Center.
Once details are finalized, others may purchase the data through the Louisiana Population Data Center.
