Shell USA, Inc.

Fred Palmer is Shell’s corporate and government relations regional manager for the Southeast U.S. (AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA).  In this role, he and his team are responsible for representing all Shell businesses and interests before governors, legislators, local communities, and other key stakeholders, as well as working closely with industry trade associations and allied business groups. 

Fred served as chairman of the Louisiana Mid Continent Oil and Gas Association (LMOGA) and currently is a member of LMOGA’s executive committee and board of directors. He also serves as a board member for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) and is Shell’s representative to the Committee of 100 (C100) – a statewide economic development policy organization.  

Prior to his current role, Fred was based in Houston as part of Shell’s unconventionals business leadership team and was responsible for communications support for the America’s onshore oil and natural gas exploration, development and producing operations.
  
Fred joined Shell in 2002, providing external affairs support for the company’s onshore U.S. exploration and production business in Michigan, South Texas, and Wyoming. From 2005 to 2010 he served as communications manager for Shell’s Gulf of Mexico deepwater business based in New Orleans.  

Fred was graduated from Salem (Mass.) State University with a degree in political science and held positions of increasing responsibility in the Corporate Communications Division of Texaco Inc. before joining Shell.
